IRONWOOD -- Sharon G. Sobolewski, 62, of 208 E. Vaughn St., Ironwood, died Tuesday, June 7, 2005, at Marquette General Hospital in Marquette.

The former Sharon Waterman was born Nov. 16, 1942, in Wakefield, daughter of the late Clement and Ida (Taube) Waterman, and attended Wakefield schools.

She was married to Jerome "Jerry" Sobolewski on March 5, 1960, in Bessemer, and raised a family. She was a caregiver with Caring Home Health for a short time until retiring due to ill health in 2003.

A kind, loving woman, Sharon thoroughly enjoyed her family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Surviving are four sons, Jerome "Jerry" Jr., (Debbie), Barron, Wis., Bruce (Robin), New Amsterdam, Wis., Donald, Ironwood Township, and Douglas (Heidi), Oma, Wis.; a daughter, Tanya (Dave) Obremski, Ironwood; 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; a brother, Ralph (Gerry) Waterman, Appleton, Wis.; five sisters, Elaine Shauger, Wakefield, and Annice LaVigne, Sandy Kennedy, and Yvonne (Norman) Thiede, all of Ironwood, and Gayle (Eldon) Mattson, Ironwood Township; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by a son, Darrell, in infancy; a brother, Clayton "Bucky" Waterman in 1994; and a very special friend, Roy Salmi, on May 8, 2005.

Cremation has taken place.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 11, at 10 a.m., at the McKevitt-Patrick Funeral Home in Ironwood, with the Rev. Darryl Pepin, officiating.

Inurnment will be in Sunset Acres Cemetery in Ironwood Township.

Friends may call at the funeral home beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday.

McKevitt-Patrick Funeral Home Inc., Ironwood, is assisting the family.
