IRONWOOD TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- Lois H. Netz, 78, of N11862 Rooni Lane, Ironwood Township, died Monday, July 3, 2006, in Ironwood.

The former Lois Ehr was born Dec. 1, 1927 in Milwaukee, Wis., daughter of the late Michael and Ella (Neuens) Ehr, attended Milwaukee public schools, and graduated from Milwaukee East Division High School in 1945. Following graduation, she received secretarial training at a Milwaukee business school, and was employed at Travelers Insurance Co. in Milwaukee for several years. She then became an airline stewardess and worked for Trans World Airlines based out of Kansas, Mo., for several years.

Lois was united in marriage to Louis J. Netz on July 24, 1954, at Lake Park Lutheran Church in Milwaukee. They resided in Milwaukee before moving to Ironwood in 1974, where Lois worked in the bookkeeping department in the family business, Netz Glove, retiring in 1983.

Lois was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Ironwood, where she served on various committees, and was a member of the Grand View Hospital Auxiliary. An avid painter and flower gardener, she was also a member of the Range Art Association and past member and secretary of the Whitefish Bay Garden Club. She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved to travel.

Surviving are her husband, Louis; three sons, John (Chin), Cairns, Australia, David, Waukesha, Wis., and James (Tami), Little Canada, Minn.; five grandchildren, Christine Netz, Green Bay, Wis., Karen (Philip) Boldra, Lincoln, Neb., Christopher and Erin Netz, both of Oak Creek, Wis., and Nickolas Andersen, Brainerd, Minn.; three great-grandchildren, Cayden and Alivia Boldra and Allison Netz; two brothers, Donald Ehr, Seattle, Wash., and Bruce "Mickey" (Rosemary) Ehr, Madison, Wis.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Lois was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Gordon Ehr; and three sisters, Jane Greymont, Dorothy Ryan, and a twin sister, Lorraine Jacobson.

Cremation has taken place.

A memorial service will be held Friday, July 7, at 11 a.m. at Salem Lutheran Church in Ironwood, with the Rev. John Kuziej, officiating.

Luncheon will follow in the church fellowship hall.

Relatives and friends may call at the church from 10 a.m. until service time on Friday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 1132, Fairfax, VA 22038-1132.
