IRONWOOD -- Eino William Levijoki, 89, of E5913 Airport Road, Ironwood, died Tuesday, June 28, 2005, in Ironwood.

He was born on April 15, 1916, in Ironwood, son of the late Alex and Anna (Aili) Levijoki, and had resided in Ironwood Township all of his life.

Eino was united in marriage to Helen Kinnunen. She preceded him in death in 1957.

On Oct. 15, 1966, he was married to EIsa Juntunen. She preceded him in death on July 20, 2000.

Eino first worked as a logging truck driver and cook at area lumber camps. He was a dairy farmer for many years, and retired in 1978 as a bus driver and mechanic for Ironwood Area Schools. He was a lifelong member of the Apostolic Lutheran Church of Ironwood, and had served as minister at the church for many years.

He is survived by four sons, Donald W., of Ironwood, James (Sharon), of DeSmet, S.D., Paul (Anita) of Hayti, S.D., and Peter (Linda), of Watertown, S.D.; two daughters, Dorothy (Paul) Benjamson of Concord, Calif.; Joanne (Erick) Sill, of Paradise, Calif.; 22 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one brother, Eddie (Delores), of Walnut Creek, Calif.; and one sister, Seeri Ruotsala, of Ironwood.

Besides his parents and wives, he was preceded in death by one son, John, in 1996; and four brothers, Charlie, Walfred, Waino, and Leonard.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 2, at 1 p.m. at the Apostolic Lutheran Church in Ironwood, with the Rev. Bruce Estola officiating.

Pallbearers will be Donald, Paul, Peter, and Travis Levijoki, and Philip and Erik Benjamson. Honorary pallbearers will be James Levijoki and Paul Benjamson.

Burial will be in Sunset Acres Cemetery in Ironwood Township.

Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from noon until the service at the church.
