IRONWOOD TOWNSHIP - Libbie M. Brace, 96, of Little , Girl's Point, Ironwood Township, died Monday morning, July 15, 2002, at Memorial Medical Center in Ashland, Wis.

She was born April 20, 1906, in Ironwood, daughter of Richard and Hilda (Makinen) Talo. She attended school in Ironwood Township.

Libbie was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Ironwood. She became a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Little Girl's Point, in 1958. She was a charter member of Immanuel Ladies Aid and also of the Ironwood Township AARP Chapter 1791
.
Family, friends and her dedicated dog, Lady, were her biggest sources of enjoyment. She also found much pleasure in cooking, knitting, crocheting, building puzzles and watching the birds and animals that frequented her yard.

Libbie married Irving J. Brace on April 30, 1927, at St. Luke's Church, Ironwood. He preceded her in death on Nov. 13, 1996, as did her son, Richard, on June 28, 1997.

She is survived by a son, Robert (fiancee, Dawn Osier), a daughter, Dolores (Byron) Bennett, and a granddaughter, Norita (Robert) Hoffman, all of Ironwood; a great-granddaughter, Jackie (Shawn) Vincent, Horicon, Wis.; step-greatgrandchildren, Michelle Hoffman, Milwaukee, and Craig (Lisa) Hoffman, Beaver Dam, Wis.; as well as a large number of extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Impi Talo and Helmi Tassava; a brother, Uuno; and a foster grandson, Douglas Watkins.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 18, at 11 a.m., at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Little Girl's Point, with the Rev. Todd Frusti officiating.

Interment will be in Sunset Acres Cemetery, Ironwood Township.
Visitation will be at the church Thursday, from 10 a.m. until the service.

Pallbearers will be Donald, Ernest and Kenny Brace, and Lloyd Wilbanks.

Nyberg-Miller-Paulsen Mortuary, Ironwood, is in charge of arrangements.
